911 - Emergency
(207) 698-1136 or 1384 - Non-emergency
Important Dispatch / Communications Information:
Since August 2018, the Town of Berwick has utilized the dispatch services of the Sanford Regional Communications Center (SRCC). Berwick residents should use the non-emergency numbers (207-698-1136 or 1384 - Option #1 for either) to reach dispatch. Any emergency calls should be made using 911.
If you don't choose Option #1, your call will be transferred to a "call tree" with multiple options. Listen carefully to the options before making your choice. Use the call tree to reach the office for records, ask questions, or leave a message for an officer, etc. We understand this may be time consuming and frustrating for you, but we appreciate your patience.
If you know the officer you're looking to speak with, our phone extensions are listed on the Officers and Staff page.
The department is staffed 24 hours every day, and the office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm for walk-in services. We welcome the opportunity to meet the citizens of Berwick, and would like to encourage people to stop by the department to introduce themselves. We're located at 20 Wilson St.
Enhanced 911
The Berwick Police Department greatly benefits by ENHANCED 911 (E-911). With E-911, the emergency dispatcher has immediate access to the callers address and telephone number, thus allowing a faster response for emergency personnel. E-911 also includes TTY (teletypewriter) technology that allows the dispatcher to communicate with the hearing impaired, and a text function that allows communication if the caller is unable to speak. The Berwick Police Department strongly encourages the use of 911, but requires that callers limit its use to EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY. If you have an EMERGENCY, please dial 911 and tell the dispatcher your emergency in a calm and detailed manner. We, the members of the Berwick Police Department, are not only your police force, but we are also your neighbors.
